This is a great light for seedlings and young plants when placed about 3″ above. It covers a one foot square area in my indoor greenhouse.
It is not enough light to sustain heavy vegetative growth in vegetables but it gives them a terrific start. I’m replacing this with a 90W UFO type light for further growth and will use this fixture for germination in future.
It does help to do some research before starting to garden indoors with LEDs. I’ve found it advisable to keep an incandescent clip fixture along with this fixture to provide warmth.
It would take three of these bi-band panels to equal the power of one 45 watt Quad-band and still be deficient in bandwidth.Considering the LED panels are only 14 watts and generate only 400 lumens, they’re really not powerful enough to support the energy needed for the flowering process but if used in tandem with multiple LED panels, or as support lighting for another lighting source, they can deliver the power you need.
